My Journey and Inquiry
As a high schooler with a strong interest in material science, I am fascinated by the potential of LionGlass to transform our world. My research focuses on how this breakthrough can make glass much stronger while using significantly less heat in the factory. By lowering the melting point, we can save massive amounts of energy. I created this space to share my data and explore if this greener option can truly replace the billions of glass bottles and windows we use every single year.

Why I Started
Like most people, I always assumed glass was the ultimate sustainable material, often viewing it as the eco-friendly winner over plastic. However, my research revealed a hidden reality that glass production actually creates massive emissions. I used to think it was naturally better for the planet, but I soon learned that many people assume glass is automatically sustainable when it actually carries a heavy carbon footprint that begins at the raw source and continues across its entire lifecycle. I launched Rethink Glass to investigate if breakthroughs like LionGlass can truly minimize these heavy environmental costs. My mission is to apply rigorous science to uncover smarter, cleaner ways to manufacture the essential materials we rely on everyday.

Community Outreach
I am currently analyzing various scientific articles to master the technicalities of LionGlass and its energy profile, building on a comprehensive research paper I wrote this summer that is now under review for publication.
I am connecting with manufacturers and engineers to translate innovations like LionGlass into scalable industry practices and recycling systems.
I will transform my findings into practical community resources like graphics and surveys to help us all build better sustainable habits.
